Your membership allows your business (including yourself and members of your team) to participate in MNIVA-sponsored operations and activities including, but not limited to: the MNIVA Annual Meeting and Board Elections; sub-committee work; special projects; industry networking; access to grant opportunities; conversations on industry-specific resources and re-opening guidelines; professional growth opportunities; group discounts, special rates, and access to various webinars, conferences, and other events as available.
1) First apply to become a member of our parent organization, National Independent Venue Association. Membership in NIVA is currently dues-free! Joining NIVA is the best way to stay in the loop about the upcoming Shuttered Venue Operators (fka Save Our Stages) grant. Eligibility requirements and registration can be found here: www.nivassoc.org/join
2) Once you're an approved member of NIVA, your Minnesota-based business should also meet the requirements for MNIVA membership. Joining the local chapter is a great way to connect with the live entertainment community across the state of Minnesota, and have a voice in legislation and policy that affects your business.
The first year of any organization is unique, and MNIVA is no exception. We are reacting and evolving as we continue to navigate the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and what that means for our industry. Our current focus is on advocacy for independent venues and promoters in Minnesota and securing relief for as many of our members as possible. In order to continue these efforts into 2021 MNIVA needs your financial support through Membership Dues to help offset the cost of the organization's immediate needs.
Membership Dues will be used to cover costs for MNIVA's Annual Operational Budget which includes basic costs of doing business such as website listings, annual filings, promotional materials, and the annual meeting. Any additional expenses incurred or voted on by the Board of Directors will be covered by separate funding sources.
Tiers of Membership Dues are based on your current number of Full-Time Employees and will be renewed on an annual basis. If at any time your financial situation allows you to donate more than the Membership Dues we welcome additional contributions in any amount.
